About us
Obsessions of Weybridge was established in 2009 with the ambition of creating unique and affordable pieces of jewellery that over time would become treasured family heirlooms. Our own workshop and in-house designers & goldsmiths enable us to transform raw materials directly into high-quality pieces of jewellery.
At Obsessions of Weybridge we believe that all jewellery can and should be well worn. As such we enjoy remaking clients' old, well-loved, and often inherited pieces into exact replicas or altogether new pieces to be treasured again. This is a satisfying opportunity to combine past with present generations to produce original and eye-catching jewellery whilst retaining sentimental values.
Although gold has gone up in price you will still get the most value from your old gold by reusing it for your next creation thus saving metal costs and paying for labour only. All our stones are ethically sourced and we are happy to provide consultation regarding your stone choices as well as sourcing you options to choose from. Obsessions of Weybridge have a real passion for coloured stones that can now be acquired through modern methods of mining. Despite common belief these stones are affordably priced and, although shaped coloured stones are still difficult to come by, they can be found over time if desired.
All stones have some value. If they are worn and lustreless they can be restored to their original quality of facets and polish and Obsessions of Weybridge can advise and arrange as required. All our items are made with a guarantee of quality plus we take in repair work on all jewellery items and all makes and models of watches.
Our lead Goldsmith Mathew Carroll was trained in Taupo, New Zealand, under the skilled guidance of the award-winning Bill Drew. Bill instilled in Mathew an acute ability to both design and hand-make some spectacular pieces. The resultant exceptional quality of the jewellery he produces can only be attributed to the inherited obsession with attention to detail resulting in personal pride for every piece. Prior to the opening of Obsessions of Weybridge, Mathew furthered his training and worked in the backbone of the jewellery industry. Whilst in London he worked with an exclusive Objéts D'art supplier creating large and unique pieces for the royal palaces of the Middle East. It is this bespoke experience that allowed him to expand from jewellery through to collectable pieces of jewelled art.
